The 4th China (Xinxiang) Wire and Cable Industry Collaborative Innovation and Development Conference was successfully held in 2025.

To further stimulate the innovation vitality of the cable industry and promote the exploration of new development models and innovative transformation and upgrading paths for new quality productivity in the cable industry, our association successfully held the 2025 4th China (Xinxiang) Wire and Cable Industry Collaborative Innovation and Development Conference in Xinxiang, Henan Province from October 17th to 19th. This conference deeply discussed the current situation and research hotspots of the wire and cable industry, cutting-edge technologies, new materials, and industrial intelligence, playing an active role in building a high-quality scientific and technological innovation platform and promoting the transformation and upgrading of the industry. Gao Wei, the deputy secretary-general of our association, Deng Miaolei, the vice chairman of the Henan Association for Science and Technology, Qi Wenhua, the member of the Standing Committee of the Xinxiang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the minister of the United Front Work Department, and Professor Liang Jing, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee and vice president of Henan Polytechnic University, attended the conference and delivered speeches respectively. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Zheng Xianfeng, the vice president of Henan Polytechnic University. The conference invited authoritative experts from the academic and industrial circles of the wire and cable field to give wonderful reports. More than 510 representatives from all over the country, including experts and scholars, business elites, and university teachers and students, attended the conference for exchanges. 

At the keynote report session, four experts were specially invited to deliver wonderful reports. They are Wu Changshun, the chairman of Shanghai Lan Hui Inspection Technology Co., Ltd. and vice president of the Wire and Cable Branch of the China Inspection and Testing Society, Li Shengtao, a professor at the School of Electrical Engineering of Xi'an Jiaotong University and academic leader of the New Electrical Materials Design and Development Direction of the National Key Laboratory of Electrical Materials and Electrical Insulation, Yin Yi, a professor at the School of Electrical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the head of the Electrical Materials and Electrical Equipment Research Team, and Huang Wei, the director of the Cable Project of the International Copper Association. They respectively presented reports titled "What Should China's Cable Industry Do in the Era of Great Changes Unseen in a Century", "Key Technologies and Research Progress of New Generation Cable Insulation Materials", "Challenges and Responses in Performance Evaluation of Ultra-High Voltage DC Cables", and "Overview of the Power Cable Market". The keynote reports were hosted by Chen Jing, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee, director and chief executive officer of the cable industry of Far East Holdings Group. The experts deeply discussed the current development status and future prospects of the wire and cable field. 

To facilitate the exchange and discussion of more scientific research achievements, the conference has specially set up two sub-forums, inviting over 20 experts to share the latest research progress on topics such as cable manufacturing, new materials, innovative technologies, advanced processes, cable testing, intelligent manufacturing, and diagnostic monitoring. In Sub-forum 1, experts including Ma Zhuang, Chief Engineer of Wuxi Jiangnan Cable Co., Ltd., Professor Liu Ying from the School of Electrical Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University, Zhao Yingrong, Chief Engineer of Qingdao Hanlan Co., Ltd., Li Lin, Senior Partner of Far East Holdings Group and Chief Customer Officer of the Cable Industry, and Zhao Youlin, Deputy Chief Engineer of Zhongtian Technology Submarine Cable Co., Ltd., will deliver presentations on topics such as "Application of AI in Cable Enterprises", "Research on Capacity Expansion Technology for High-Voltage Cable Lines", "Research on Production Technology of Ultra-High Voltage AC and DC Submarine Cables", "Sharing of Far East's Full Life Cycle Quality Management Experience", and "Innovations in 500kV Three-Core AC Submarine Cable Transmission Technology". In Sub-forum 2, experts such as Professor Li Jianying from the School of Electrical Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University, Li Shunli, Deputy Chief Engineer of Zhejiang Taihu Yuanda New Materials Co., Ltd., Hu Chaoqiang, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Panyu Cable Group Co., Ltd., Professor Feng Yu, Vice Dean of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Harbin University of Science and Technology, Yuan Jie, Technical Manager of Rubber Cable Division of Jiangsu Shangshang Cable Group Co., Ltd., and Huang Shangshi, Special Researcher of the National Key Laboratory of New Power System Operation and Control at Tsinghua University, will present on topics such as "Research Progress on Development and Application of Green and Low-Carbon Polypropylene Cable Insulation Materials", "Research and Industrialization Progress of Domestic 500kV Cable Materials", "Full Life Cycle Safety Protection of Cables", "High Thermal Conductivity Insulating Materials and Systems for Electrical Equipment", "Trends and Discussions on Cable Technology for Wind Power Generation", and "Current Status of Graft-Modified Polypropylene Insulated Power Cables". The sub-forum reports will be hosted by Bao Zhenyu, Deputy Director of the National Cable Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Jiangsu), Chang Wenping, Dean of the Cable Engineering College of Henan Polytechnic University, An Xiaoyu, Secretary-General of the Henan Electrical Engineering Society, and Cheng Lin, Chairman of Nanjing Shuangchen Cable Technology Co., Ltd. 

During the conference, an exhibition and display event featuring new products, achievements and innovative solutions in the wire and cable industry was held concurrently, providing a high-quality platform for technical exchanges, achievement expansion and business cooperation within the industry, and attracting active interaction and communication from the audience. 

To better serve the high-quality development of the wire and cable industry and support talent cultivation, a cable-themed campus recruitment fair was held at Henan Polytechnic University on October 18th. 

Wires and cables are an important component of the electrical engineering field, hailed as the "arteries" and "nerves" of the national economy, and also a key focus of our association's technology service work. For a long time, we have continuously carried out "diagnosis and consultation" around the key and difficult issues in the transformation and upgrading of the wire and cable industry, and customized various services such as industry conferences, new product (technology) appraisals, and technical consultations. In the future, our association will actively implement the requirements of "Innovation China", and strive to build a platform for scientific and technological innovation exchanges. In the process of serving the local economy and the development of the wire and cable industry, we will assist leading local cable enterprises in introducing high-level scientific and technological talents, build a high-end platform for in-depth integration of industry, academia, and research, accelerate the transformation of the innovation chain in the wire and cable field into the industrial chain, inject strong impetus into local industrial upgrading and the transformation of university research achievements, and promote deeper and more substantive cooperation between universities and enterprises, achieving mutual benefit and common prosperity.
